At KFUMC, we want each event, announcement, report, article and every other publication to get the respect and attention it deserves. With that in mind, we have a process for you to follow when you would like to get something published.
Definitions
What is a publication?
A publication is any event, announcement, article, report, or thank you that needs to appear in some form before a target audience, be that a select group, our congregation, or the greater community.
What is a posting?
A posting is considered to be a flyer, poster, banner, or anything physically attached to the building. If you require a posting, please note that it must either be approved or designed by the Media & Graphic Coordinator.
It is our intent to publicize your event in all the areas we have available to us (Echoes Across the River, the bulletin, the e-newsletter, website, Contemporary Worship pre-service, etc.). However, it might not always be possible for your publication to appear in every place, so we do ask for your understanding.
Late Submissions
If a request is received after noon on Tuesday, it will be considered an early submission for the following week. We feel it is in best interest to enforce a strict deadline both out of respect for the time of our staff, as well as to adhere to the highest quality of work for a submitted publication.
The only exceptions to the submission deadline are Sunday-dependent items and events.
Policies for Approval
The following is a list of policies to abide by to ensure an item has the greatest chance of publication:
- Only Church-sponsored ministries will be published
- Consult your Staff Ministry Area Leader prior to your submission
- Make requests clear and specific
- Fill out all fields on the "Publication Request Form" by noon the Tuesday before the week of publication
- Keep descriptions at less than 100 words
