Scholarship Awards

The Kerrville First United Methodist Church recognizes those graduating Senior High students with church scholarships.  These scholarships are given to students dependent upon their involvement in the church family instead of either academic  achievement and/or financial need.  Each graduating Senior must submit an application for a church scholarship no later than the established deadline.

The schedule for scholarship submission begins in January of each year when the Youth Activities Director, Beth Palmer, announces that each Senior should begin thinking about applying for a scholarship.  Then after Spring Break,  Beth Palmer announces that applications may be picked up from her and submitted no later than the third week in April prior to forwarding to the Scholarship Selection Committee.

Once the applications are submitted, then the Scholarship Selection Committee reviews each application and announces the scholarship recipients and amount of each scholarship award to the Youth Activities Director.    These awards are then announced at the High School Award banquet in May of each year.

A Scholarship Application contains the following types of information:

Name, address and telephone number of the applicant.
Then each applicant answers the following questions:

1)  What college, university or technical school do you plan to attend?

2)  Are you a full member of Kerrville First United Methodist Church?
____Yes ____No

3)  In what areas has the Church had a positive impact on you?

4)  How have you participated in the programs of Kerrville First United
Methodist Church?

5)  List of Extracurricular Activities: _______________________

6)  List of Community Activities: _________________________

Then sign and date the application for turn in to the Youth Activities Director prior to the deadline.
