Kids’ Klub Parent Information
January 2009
Kids’ Klub Overview
Begins January 14, 2009
Times: 5:15 to 7:00 p.m.
Open for age 4 to 6th grade
Kids Klub will not meet on the following dates:
March 18 during Spring Break
Last meeting of semester will be April 29
We are very concerned about your child’s safety while attending Kids’ Klub. Therefore, we are now requiring parents to walk in with their child to sign him/her in at 5:15 p.m. and out at 7 p.m. We do not want to take any chances with your child’s safety! Exception for children’s choirs: If your child participates in one of the choirs, the choir leader will bring the kids over to the registration area for Kids’ Klub after choir dismisses. You will need to come in at 7 p.m. and check your child out. We will need a Kids Klub enrollment form for your child on file.
Parent Recruitment
We experienced wonderful growth last year in Kids Klub as it truly is an outreach event. This year, it is a requirement that all parents will help throughout the semester! We need your help to give your children the quality program and attention that they deserve! Your child needs to see that attending church is important to you and them. If you have not committed to being a weekly helper/leader, please sign up for 2 nights as a parent helper which you will travel with the class from mealtime to the end of the night at 7 p.m. You will help the crew leader assigned to that class in keeping a close watch over the children. The date sheet to sign-up is located on the registration form. A reminder postcard will be sent to you. If something prevents you from helping with Kids Klub, please call Patti at 257-0808 ASAP so other arrangements can be made. However, we do rely heavily on our volunteers to run this program.
KID’S KLUB Midweek Ministry Code of Conduct/Classroom Commitments
Please read and discuss these forms with your child. We want your child’s spiritual journey here to be pleasant and fun. Part of our goal in children’s ministry is to train children to understand that the church is God’s house and there are certain expectations required from each of us.
Program Information
“Exploring L.I.F.E.” published by Cokesbury (ages 4 to 4th grade)
Living in Faith Everyday is a program that uses small group relationships to help kids grow in faith. The program offers life links. These reflection/discussion ideas are sprinkled throughout to help kids connect Bible stories to their own life experiences. Kids will stay in their same age class with a “crew leader” and parent helper. They will meet in their designated classrooms at 5:15 and do a short gathering time to introduce the Bible topic of the night. After supper, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., they will rotate through the following stations: Craft Corner/Mission Possible, Music & Story, and Games Galore. Each station is set for 20 minutes.
No-Miss Lessons for Pre-Teen Kids (5th & 6th grades)
Faith building lessons presented in the following sections: the Internet and the media, How to Get Along with Family and Friends, Forgiving Friends, Sibling Rivalry, Sharing My Faith and some Kid-friendly service projects. Boys and girls will meet separately.
