Children's Ministry Mission Statement
The mission of the Children's Ministry of First United Methodist Church is to bring all
children in our care to a personal and meaningful relationship with their Savior,
Jesus Christ, and to be a living example of His love in their lives.

About Children's Ministry
(Birth to 6th Grade)

We are located in the Education Building. Classes
are from 9:45 am to 10:45 am on Sundays.

Nursery - Infant Room 108
Nursery - Toddler Room 106
Two year old children - Room 115
Three year old children - Room 101
Four year old children - Room 103
Kindergarten - Room 105
1st - 4th Grades - Room 114
5th Grade - Room 102
6th Grade Confirmation - Room 214

A loving nursery is provided for morning church
services: 8:30, 9:45 and 11:00 am. The nursery is located in the Education Building in room 106 (Toddler) and Room 108 (infant). We use a
special pager system which allows us to contact
you at any location in the church if the need
arises. Ages for nursery: birth to 3 yrs.

Extended nursery is offered during the 11:00 am worship hour for ages 4 & 5 in Room 105 of the Education Building.

We have secure check in/out system.

Grades 3 and up are the Acolytes and Cross Bearers at the 11:00 am service. Special trainings are held throughout the year.

Inclement weather policy:
If KISD closes schools due to bad weather or if after-school activities are cancelled due to bad weather, the Kids’ Klub will not meet that night also.

Kid's News
A special newsletter, Kid's News, is published
monthly and mailed to homes and is available
throughout the church. It contains children's
ministry news for parents and has games,
puzzles and stories geared for children.

Several other special events are held throughout
the year including:

Children's Sermons are given during the
11:00 am Worship Service except for Communion Sundays
and other special occasions.

Vacation Bible School is held each June. This very popular event hosts about 300 children each year. VBS is held Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am until noon. The age group includes 4 years to 5th grade. Bible stories, crafts, snacks, games and music are
just part of this exciting week.
