Rev. Dr. Warren Hornung
Senior Pastor

Warren was born and reared on a ranch in Gonzales County, Texas where he attended the Monthalia United Methodist Church.  He graduated from Gonzales High School in 1956. He received his B.A. degree from Moody Bible Institute (Chicago) in 1959. He graduated from Wheaton College, Wheaton Illinois, in 1961 with honors, majoring in Anthropology.

Warren received a M.A. degree in Anthropology from the University of Texas in Austin and did doctoral work in Anthropology at the University of Chicago.  He is an honors graduate of Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University (Master of Theology -- 1966).  Warren received a Doctor of Ministry degree with highest honors from the Methodist School of Theology, Claremont, California in 1974.

Warren's previous pastorates include churches in Lombard, Illinois; Santiago, Chile; Wilmer, Texas; Carrollton, Texas; St. Paul UMC, El Campo, Texas (1973-1976); and the First United Methodist Church, Gonzales, Texas, where he served for 13 years (1976-1989).  He served as the District Superintendent of the McAllen District from 1989 to  1994. He and Anita served as missionaries with the Board of Global Ministries, Santiago, Chile from 1967 to 1973, where he taught in the Methodist Seminary.  They have been at the Kerrville First United Methodist Church since 1994. He became a member of the Board of Trustees of Schreiner University in 2004.

He married Anita on July 2, 1960, in Niagara Falls, New York, which was her home. They have two sons: John, manager at the Stevenson Lexus Dealership in Denver, Colorado; and Billy, a Civil Engineer who also ranches in Gonzales County and is the Youth Director at the First United Methodist Church, Gonzales.

Warrens hobbies include ranching, farming, sports, hunting, fishing, and snow skiing.

Judi Mayne
 Minister of Education

Judi Mayne and her family moved to Kerrville from Corpus Christi in 1997.   Prior to that, she spent 18 years on church staffs, serving as director of youth, children, adult, and family ministries.  Judi is on part-time staff at FUMC as Director of Education and Adult Ministries.  She also coordinates the Confirmation Class for sixth graders each year.  Judi and her husband, Kevin, have two children, Michael and Kaitlin. Kevin serves as Executive Director for Laity Lodge Youth Camp, so the entire family spends the summer in ministry at the H E Butt Foundation on the banks of the beautiful Frio River!
