The Royal School of Church Music Boys Choir

|
Boys and young men grades three and up are invited to sing in the church's chapter of the Royal School of Church Music. As an officially chartered group these singers receive training in correct singing, music theory and sight reading basics while having fun together in a fun and spiritual atmosphere. They meet from 4:15 pm to 5:15 pm on Wednesday evenings in the Rehearsal Hall. After rehearsal they may stay for the Kid's Club or Youth meal and activities. The group is directed by George James and accompanied by Brenda Heatherington. Our local chapter includes four part work which allows older boys to stay with the group after the tenor or bass part becomes appropriate for them to sing. Each year members of the group are selected to attend a Royal School of Church Music Summer Course. The week long courses offer a chance for intensive music study while meeting and have fun activities with young boys and young men from all over the nation and world. |
