Heart and Hands Women's Ministry
| Mission Statement: |
Sisters in Christ, standing shoulder to shoulder; united in fellowship, compassion, service and love, with many hands and one heart. |
| Purpose: |
To encourage unity, spiritual growth, and fellowship among women |
| Scripture: |
"If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose." |
|
One of the main objectives is to have events for ladies so they would be able to come together for fellowship. With so many services and our church growing, there are many women that we never have a chance to meet. Hopefully our events will help women meet each other, grow spiritually, and build relationships. The group is open to women of all ages in our church and community, and members are encouraged to invite friends, neighbors, and co-workers and they will be warmly welcomed.

Our goal is to try to plan events every other month.
First event was held in March 2009 – "Movie Night" with popcorn and candy.
Second event – Dinner & Performance with Barbara French who portrayed three different women in the Bible and it was great!
Third event - road trip to the "Rockbox Theatre" in Fredericksburg with dinner afterwards at Acapulco Restaurant in Kerrville.
Fourth event – "Cooking at Conchita’s Restaurant" - dinner at Conchita's with a cooking lesson.
Fifth event held November 20 "The Holiday Recipe Swap" We asked women to donate to a children's group for the holidays and chose "Bridging the Gap," a children's bereavement program.
Next event will be in conjunction with our Wesley Nurse Jennifer featuring Women's Heart Health. We are in the process of planning a church wide Womens' Retreat. We would also like to check with other churches in our areas that have Women's groups and possibly have a breakfast once a quarter and share ideas, resources and possibly have community-wide functions.
Our “Heart and Hands Women’s Ministry” planning team is always open to fresh, new ideas and always looking for new things to offer our “Sisters in Christ” that encourages unity, spiritual growth, and fellowship among women.
