Created in 2003, the Children’s Council has a sole purpose of overseeing all of the children’s programs at FUMC. Currently, the council oversees the following programs: Kids' Klub, Sunday School, Nursery, Vacation Bible School, and Missions and Outreach. In addition, the council plans an annual children’s Christmas program, Easter Egg Hunt/Celebration and several events during the summer months. The council also coordinates meals for new moms at our church. They meet monthly throughout the year.
Our current members include: Heather Farrell, Rhonda Davison, Melanie Huckaby, Felicia Lehman, Tara Maguire, Kirsten Merrington, Anna Norris, Lisa Smith, Tara Sweet, Cynthia Thompson, Dana Watson, Andrea Wilson, Paige Mixon, and Laura Bernhard.

The Children’s Council has adopted an ongoing service project for the Rainbow Room. The Rainbow Room is an in-house emergency resource center that distributes items such as clothing, hygiene products, food, school supplies, diapers and formula, to clients receiving services by Children’s Protective Services. Here is a list of items that are needed:
Items Needed Year-Round:
- Household Cleaning Items: Lysol, Comet, garbage bags, sponges, towels, washcloths
- New Clothes: shirts, sweatshirts, jeans, pants, caps (especially 10-15 year olds)
- New Shoes: 7 year through 13 year olds
- Hygiene Items: feminine, make-up, deodorant, lice shampoo (especially in summer months), bath soap, combs, brushes, hair accessories, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste
- Infant: baby bags, onesies, PJs, formula, diapers, soap, lotion, powder, wipes, bottles, teething rings
- Toddler: educational toys, blankets, sheets & pillowcases, sleeping bags, activity & coloring books
Seasonal Items:
Toys and books before Christmas, school supplies in August
Big Items:
Portable cribs and car seats
Items may be dropped off in collection bins in the Education Building. Please send new items only. Thanks!

- Sunday services are at 8:30, 9:45, 11:00, and 6:00.
- Contemporary worship is at 11:00 in the Fellowship Hall.
- Sunday School is at 9:45 each Sunday.
- Communion is on the 1st Sunday each month in all services.
